Houston: Engr. Oguntala FNSE to Lead Discussion on African Oil and Gas Industry at OTC

The President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, FNSE, will be featured as a Panel Speaker at the Nigerian Pavilion during the 2024 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, USA. 

The Pavilion’s theme, “Sustainable Energy Solutions for Africa’s Future,” anticipates hosting numerous professionals and industry leaders from Africa and around the world. 

Engr. Oguntala will participate in the African Continent Collaboration Session, focusing on “Elevating Local Content Excellence: Collaborative Strategies for Africa’s Oil and Gas Industry,” alongside esteemed speakers such as the President of the Association of African Petroleum Producers (AAP) from Senegal and the President of the Association of Service Companies of Angola (ASSEA).

According to a released statement by the NSE Corporate Service Board,”The session will take place on Tuesday, May 7th, at the Wyndham by 2:30 pm”. 

Furthermore, Engr. Oguntala, along with Minister of State Petroleum Resources (oil) Senator Heineken Lokpobiri and Minister of State of Petroleum Resources (Gas) Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, will inaugurate the Nigerian Pavilion at OTC.

Other notable attendees including Mr. Mele Kolo Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited and the Commission Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, among others.

“The opening declaration event is scheduled for Monday, May 6th, 2024, at 11 am at the NRG Park”. 

This will be the first time the NSE President speaks at OTC, demonstrating the society’s commitment to technological advancements and sustainable energy practices. 

Her trip is supported by an NSE Strategic Partner, emphasizing the significance of collaboration in advancing engineering goals. 

Engr. Oguntala will also engage with members of the NSE Houston Branch, offering insights into the society’s future direction and initiatives, including the establishment of diaspora international mobility committees to facilitate cross-border engineering practices.
