An aircraft belonging to Xejet with 53 passengers onboard veered off the Lagos airport Runway at 11:29 am this morning.
The aircraft on landing on the runway veered into the grass verge and rescue operations was swiftly carried out by personnel of the fight and rescue department who safely evacuated all passengers onboard.
The runway was immediately closed to all flights awaiting the arrival of investigators from the National Safety Investigation Bureau NSIB.
The NSIB on its part in a statement says, it has been informed of the incident and a team of investigators have been deployed there to ascertain the cause of the incident.
This is the second time this year, an aircraft will veered off same runway in the past two weeks.
The first was Dana Air last month when one of its aircraft also suffered a similar incident.
On landing, the Dana aircraft veered off the runway which led to its suspension of operations by the regulatory authority, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
