Nigeria’s ValueJet airline is set to launch direct flight operations between Lagos, Nigeria, and Banjul, The Gambia, commencing on May 15th, 2025.
The airline announced that the new route will operate twice weekly, departing Lagos at 9:00 PM on Thursdays and Sundays, arriving in Banjul at 11:30 PM. Return flights from Banjul will depart on Mondays and Fridays at 12:30 AM, arriving in Lagos at 5:00 AM.
Operating from Murtala Muhammed International Airport’s new terminal in Lagos, this service aims to enhance connectivity between the two West African nations, facilitating increased access to The Gambia’s tourism sector and strengthening economic relationships.
Tickets for the new Lagos-Banjul route are currently available for purchase on the airline’s website.
The Managing Director/Accountable Manager of ValueJet, Capt. Omololu Majekodunmi, emphasized the significance of this expansion, stating that it aligns with the airline’s vision to improve travel options and connectivity within West Africa.
He stressed the airline’s pride in contributing to closer economic ties and opening opportunities for trade and tourism between Nigeria, The Gambia, and the wider region.
ValueJet views this new route as a key step in its broader strategy to expand its presence across the West African coast, with plans for further destination growth in the future.
