Ministry of Works and the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) have formed a partnership aimed at promoting engineering excellence and driving sustainable infrastructure development across the country.

The collaboration was announced during a recent meeting between the Minister of State for Works, Barr. Bello Goronyo, and the NSE President, Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, in Abuja.

The two parties discussed ways to integrate the engineering profession into national development, with the NSE President emphasizing the need for qualified engineers to be involved in all phases of infrastructure projects to ensure quality delivery and long-term sustainability.

The NSE has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting government efforts through technical expertise, policy advice, and capacity development initiatives that align with global best practices.

In response, the Minister of State for Works commended the contributions of Nigerian engineers to the nation’s development and expressed the Ministry’s readiness to deepen its partnership with the NSE.

The collaboration is seen as crucial for realizing the Federal Government’s infrastructure agenda and maintaining international standards in project execution.

The partnership marks a significant step towards fostering a stronger public-private synergy in the engineering sector and leveraging local capacity for national growth.

The meeting follows the Minister of State for Works’ representation of President Bola Tinubu at the 2024 NSE National Engineering Conference in Abuja, which highlighted the administration’s recognition of the engineering profession as a cornerstone of national progress.
