The Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 Training Academy (MMA2) has made a significant impact in the aviation industry since its inception in 2019.

With over 3,000 individuals trained, the academy has established itself as a premier training institution, offering cutting-edge facilities and accredited courses in aviation security.

Located on the third floor of the domestic Terminal 2, MMA2 has successfully trained professionals in various aviation security courses, including ASTP 123 (BASIC), Aviation Security Awareness Training, and Xray Interpretation and Screening.

The academy’s commitment to standardized training has been recognized by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA Avsec Department), which has accredited MMA2 as a Certified Aviation Security Training Provider.

According to Korede Ogunseinde, Head of the Creative Services Department at Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, the industry’s regulated nature and strict regulatory requirements necessitate standardized training.

“We have successfully created an avenue for all professionals to acquire more knowledge and skills through accredited training,” he said.

Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, Head of Corporate Communications at Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, emphasized the importance of cultivating a culture of security consciousness in the industry.

“Cultivating a culture of security consciousness is paramount in our industry, as such, all concessionaires are required to undergo aviation security awareness training. This initiative not only fortifies our terminal’s security protocols but also empowers participants with invaluable knowledge, ensuring a safer and more resilient operational environment.”

Monica Oguta, Head of Aviation Security at MMA2, praised the academy’s noteworthy impact in advancing aviation security training. “Since opening in July 2019, the academy has skillfully trained over 3,000 individuals, underscoring our commitment to high learning standards within the industry,” she said.

The academy’s strategic location within the domestic Terminal 2 and cutting-edge facilities enable it to offer a wide array of aviation security courses.

With its recognition by the NCAA as a Certified Aviation Security Training Provider, MMA2 has demonstrated its dedication to maintaining strict regulatory standards and ensuring its trainees achieve both professional growth and global recognition.

Looking ahead, MMA2 Training Academy is poised to continue shaping a secure and competent aviation security workforce.
