Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, Mr. Uno Udom Emmanuel, has invited the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, to conduct an inspection tour of the Maintenance Repairs and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Akwa Ibom.

The invitation was extended during the Governor’s visit to the Minister in Abuja, where they discussed the state’s investment in Ibom Air, managed by the Akwa Ibom Investment Corporation (AKICORP).

Governor Eno emphasized Ibom Air’s recent success, highlighting the acquisition of ten Airbus A220-300 aircraft from the 2021 Dubai Airshow.

These additions he said, are intended to enhance the airline’s operations and support expansion into various African destinations.

In the course of their discussion, Governor Eno proposed a collaborative venture, suggesting that the federal government officially concession Ibom Air’s aircraft overhaul facility, the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) unit.

Expressing gratitude, Keyamo commended the state government’s dedication to providing exceptional airline services.

He acknowledged the invitation and conveyed his readiness to visit Akwa Ibom for the MRO facility inspection at his convenience.
