The Management and staff of the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency, NAMA, are in mourning mood over the death of a staff shot dead in Kaduna Airport by bandits on Saturday.
In a statement signed by the Acting MD, Mr. Lawrence Pwajok, the deceased, Mallam Shehu Na’allah a legionnaire guarding some of its Instrument Landing System, ILS, in the vicinity of Kaduna Airport died on the way to the hospital.
“It is with a deep sense of sorrow and regret that the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency announce the death of one of our security operatives (Legionnaire), Mallam Shehu Na’Allah. Mallam Na’Allah was shot in an attack by bandits on Friday, March 25, 2022 while on security duty at Navigational equipment site (VOR)”.
He adds that, “The Management and Staff of NAMA commiserate with the entire staff of NAMA, the Nigerian Management Legion and more especially with the family and relatives of Mallam Shehu Na’Allah and pray the Almighty to grant him paradise and comfort those he left behind”.
Pwajok assured the general public that security forces stationed around the airport repelled the attack and normalcy has been restored.
“The Management uses this opportunity to express her immense appreciation to staff for their selfless service, and hereby reassure them of the Agency’s unwavering commitment to their welfare, as well as collaborative efforts towards providing a safe and secure working environment”.
In a related development, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has appealed to the public to desist from posting old pictures and videos not related to the Kaduna airport incident yesterday.
The General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mrs. Faithful Hope-Ivbaze said, such pictures and videos are misleading and creating unnecessary tension.
“These videos and pictures are misleading and does no one any good”.
