….receives Ops Specs for Challenger, CRJ Base Maintenance
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has granted Onedot Aviation approval to conduct base maintenance on Bombardier Challenger and CRJ aircraft.
This significant certification expands the company’s Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) capabilities and marks a boost for Nigeria’s aviation sector.
Captain Henry Ogunyemi, Managing Director of Onedot Aviation, attributed the achievement to his team’s dedication and expertise.
“This reflects our team’s commitment. The NCAA’s approval allows us to broaden our MRO services, including base maintenance, contributing to Nigeria’s aviation growth and creating local employment opportunities.”
Since establishing its MRO facility at Murtala Muhammed Airport in 2013, Onedot Aviation has progressively expanded its service portfolio.
With previous approvals for Wheels and Brakes, Non-Destructive Testing, and sheet metal repairs, the addition of Operational Specifications (Ops Specs) for base maintenance on Challenger and CRJ aircraft positions Onedot Aviation as a comprehensive MRO provider for operators in Nigeria and the wider region.
The certification is expected to positively impact the Nigerian economy by reducing capital flight associated with overseas aircraft maintenance.
Local airlines frequently incur substantial costs sending aircraft abroad for servicing. Onedot Aviation’s expanded services offer a viable domestic alternative, keeping revenue within the country and strengthening the local aviation industry.
Onedot Aviation plans to further expand its capacity to accommodate a wider range of aircraft types and services.
The company’s strategy includes investments in infrastructure, technology, and personnel training, with the goal of becoming a leading MRO provider in West Africa.
The NCAA’s rigorous certification process involved safety audits, operational evaluations, and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards.
The approval was signed and issued by Engineer Victor Goyea, Director of Airworthiness Standards. Industry stakeholders have lauded Onedot Aviation’s growing influence, particularly within the executive and regional jet sectors.
