The Management of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc, has suspended some senior operations officials and investigating others over the recent incident involving the damage to one of Air Peace aircraft Wednesday at the Lagos airport.
The NAHCO equipment was said to have rammed into the aircraft at the airside causing damage to the elevator.
Announcing this in a statement signed by the Group Executive Director, Business and Corporate Services, NAHCO plc, Dr. Sola Obabori, says, the decision to suspend the staff is to enable proper and unhindered investigation.
The Management of the company says, they have invited the relevant regulatory and security agencies to swing into action and especially investigate the subject of sabotage and take an independent look at the incident.
Air Peace airline while confirming the incident to newsmen yesterday alleged sabotage of their aircraft being the third time such incident had happened with NAHCO.
In the statement, NAHCO management says, they are “deeply saddened by the unfortunate incident of a NAHCO equipment which impacted an Air Peace Airbus A320 Aircraft, at the Lagos Airport, yesterday”.
Adding that, “Air Peace is the biggest privately owned airline in Africa, and we are proud to have them as one of our prime client’s”.
“We share a very cordial relationship with the Airline, and we have been together all these years serving them diligently and professionally, since inception”.
