….Plans Big for 2025 After a Year of Notable Gains in 2024

As the year comes to a close, the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agents (NANTA) is proud to reflect on its collective achievements and milestones, while also looking forward to the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.

Under the leadership of the President, Mr. Yinka Folami, NANTA has made significant progress in advancing the travel trade, fostering partnerships, and advocating for the interests of its members.

In its end year 2024 report, Folami said, the Association activated its eight committees, which are now fully functional and working towards implementing initiatives that align with NANTA’s overall goals.

One of the key highlights of the year has been the establishment of strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), IATA, and African Association.

These partnerships have enabled NANTA to address systemic issues affecting the trade, such as anti-competitive practices, and to promote consumer protection and fair play.

NANTA has also made significant strides in advocacy, intervening in key issues affecting the travel trade, including USD sales in Nigeria by Emirates Airlines, trapped funds with suspended Dana Airlines, and the Fly Nigeria Bill 2024.

The Association has communicated its position on these issues to relevant stakeholders, including the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, NCAA, and IATA.

In addition to its advocacy efforts, NANTA has taken initiatives aimed at promoting industry development, including internal engagements and consultations, and the successful hosting of the World Travel Market (WTM) 2024 exhibition and also received an Award of Excellence for Best Industry Partnership from Virgin Atlantic.

As NANTA looks to the future, the association is committed to planning and implementing new initiatives to achieve its goals.

Some of the key commitments include conducting a national town hall meeting, establishing new partnerships with Chambers of Commerce and Brands, and re-activating the Industry Working Group.

The association is also committed to expanding its scope of impact and influence through partnerships with both African and global bodies, and to presenting its 2024 year-end position papers to IATA, NCAA, and the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development.
