Lawmaker sponsors bill to establish Federal College of Aviation Technology

Senator Gbenga Daniel representing Ogun Central in the National Assembly has sponsored a bill seeking to establish the Federal College of Aviation Technology.

The Senate who passed the bill today for first reading during plenary is an indication of the red chambers recognition of the importance of the College in enhancing the country’s aviation industry.

Senator Daniel while speaking on the bill said, the Federal College of Aviation Technology would be a catalyst for innovation, skill development and capacity building and would align Nigeria with global best practices in aviation education and training.

According to him, when operational it is expected to provide full-time courses and training in various aspects of expertise in the industry and award all classes of pilot certification in Aircraft maintenance, Air traffic control, Aeronautical technology, Cabin crew training amongst others.

The proposed college is aimed at promoting excellence, research, and development within the aviation sector and ultimately contributing to safer and more efficient air travel in Nigeria.
