
The Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, has been commended by staff for her remarkable achievements in just one year in office.
The commendation came as FAAN marked Mrs. Kuku’s one-year anniversary and the December edition of the MD’s quarterly award for excellence at the FAAN headquarters in Lagos.
Under Mrs. Kuku’s visionary leadership, FAAN has made significant strides in safety, security, and passengers’ facilitation.
The agency has established a safety culture, developed a clear formal safety policy, ensured regulatory compliance, and provided adequate safety training to its staff.
The MD has also prioritized accountability and continuous improvement, which has led to a significant reduction in safety incidents.
Stakeholders, including Director Special Duties, FAAN, Mr. Henry Agbebire, and General Manager, Safety, Mr. John Okezie Ekpe, praised Mrs. Kuku’s commitment to ensuring the safety of passengers and staff.
They noted that her leadership has transformed FAAN into a model of operational excellence.
Mrs. Kuku expressed her gratitude to God, FAAN staff, directors, and management for their support and sacrifices.
She also thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, for their unwavering support.
The MD highlighted the agency’s plans for the next few months, including the implementation of landside and airside improvements. She emphasized that the agency is committed to providing the same level of service as international airports.
The event also featured the presentation of MD’s awards to deserving FAAN staff and the launch of the Occupational Safety and Health Manual and Aerodrome General Safety Handbook.
