Director General, Nigerian Meteorological Agency, (NiMet), Prof. Charles Anosike has called upon staff to prioritize alignment with the agency’s strategic objectives during the implementation of the 2025 budget.
The call was made during NiMet’s budget retreat held in Abuja.
Prof. Anosike emphasized the importance of ensuring all projects and activities directly contribute to the agency’s core themes: infrastructure development, sufficient finance, effective stakeholder partnerships, employee growth and welfare, and efficient operations.
“We have to prioritize our work and projects and ensure that the projects and our activities conform with the established strategic objectives of the agency,” Professor Anosike stated.
“These objectives are covered through five critical themes… The outcome will be a Nigerian Meteorological Agency that is vibrant, efficient and sustainable.”
He further charged staff to uphold procurement laws and processes, highlighting that budgetary performance is crucial to achieving NiMet’s overarching goals.
The retreat, according to Professor Anosike, served as a platform to thoroughly review the 2025 budget, discuss managerial and welfare matters, and assess the agency’s progress to date.
