ET, Boeing, Think Young Foster STEM Excellence

Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s leading aviation group, has partnered with Boeing and Think Young to strengthen STEM education in Ethiopia. 

This year, 28 high school students, including a significant number of girls, successfully completed the second edition of the STEM School program.

The three-year program aims to equip underserved Ethiopian youth with critical STEM skills and inspire their interest in higher education. Selected students participate in intensive training, gaining hands-on experience in areas like coding, robotics, and artificial intelligence.

Mesfin Tasew, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO says,

“By investing in our youth, we are investing in Ethiopia’s future,” said “This program empowers the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.”

Kuljit Ghata-Aura, Boeing’s President for the region, emphasized the program’s transformative impact: “It combines Boeing’s expertise, Ethiopian Airlines’ legacy, and Think Young’s innovative approach to education.”

Delila Kidanu, Director of Think Young Africa, expressed satisfaction with the program’s progress and the students’ enthusiasm.

Bethel Teshome Sebsibe, a STEM School student, shared her positive experience: “I’ve learned so much and gained confidence in my abilities.”

The STEM School, hosted by Ethiopian Aviation University, provides students with exclusive access to Ethiopian Airlines’ operations, offering a practical understanding of the aviation industry.
