Dr. Allen Onyema, Chairman of Air Peace Limited, West Africa’s largest airline, was celebrated as the Personality of the Year at the 2023 Vanguard Newspaper Awards.
The prestigious event took place on May 24, 2024, at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, commemorating the 12th anniversary of Vanguard’s dedication to recognizing excellence.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Onyema expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Vanguard Newspaper leadership for acknowledging his patriotic beliefs, pioneering efforts, and philanthropic activities.
“This recognition of my efforts and interest in peace advocacy will spur me to do even more. I am deeply honoured and encouraged to continue striving for the betterment of our nation,” he stated.
The event highlighted Dr. Onyema’s substantial contributions to national unity and societal advancement, underscoring his steadfast commitment to promoting peace and development in Nigeria.
His achievements have not only earned national recognition but also set a standard for leadership and community service.
The ceremony was graced by eminent figures, including the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who also received the same award, and the Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
