Scholarship: WIEN congratulates NSE President for promoting Girl-Child education

The Women in Energy Network, WIEN has congratulated the President, Nigeria Society of Engineers, NSE, Engr. Babagana Mohammed  for his commitment to the girl-child education. 

In a congratulatory letter to the NSE President, WIEN President, Mrs. Funmi Ogbue described Engr. Mohammed as a true example of a leader, adding that with the scholarship scheme, he had added another feather to his crown.
The Presentation of Cheque for APWEN’s Engr. Babagana Mohammed Engineering Scholarship for Girls and Bridging the Gap Mentoring Scheme for Best UTME 2020 Candidates took place 19th September, 2020 in Maiduguri.

Mrs. Ogbue says WIEN is an association established in 2020 to provide a platform for women that work across the energy sector value chain, to network and build confidence and links to progress their careers and businesses.
“Our vision is to become the leading women’s association that advocates women’s participation and leadership across the energy value chain. We pride ourselves on transparency, reliability, empowerment, collaborations and innovation.”

She used the medium to pledge their support to this initiative by providing mentorship and internships for the recipients during their course of study and into their career paths. 
The WIEN President also used the letter to introduce one of its members who is a prominent member of APWEN, Engr. (Dr. Mrs.) Felicia Agubata, FNSE, IPP APWEN) who also attended the event.
“We wish you all the best and look froward to greater achievements as advocates of empowering the girl-child towards achieving our vision as stated above.”
