The Chairman Organizing Committee, Drone Technology Conference and Exhibition, Mr Fortune Idu says, all arrangements have been concluded for the second edition of Dronetecx conference with the theme : ‘Paving a successful future for Drones development in Nigeria and Africa’.
Speaking with journalists on the forthcoming event slated for 10th to 12th May, 2022 at the NIGAV Centre in Lagos, Idu revealed that the Director General of Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority NCAA Capt Nuhu Musa, has indicated interest to participate fully in the Programme.
Idu says, “the NCAA has so far operated a very fair playing field for the Drone industry to take off with a five years projection”, adding that Drone applications will be available in all sectors and field with the country experiencing exponential growth in the technology.
According to Idu, Capt. Musa will be speaking on the topic : ‘Update on regulatory framework’ that is aimed at driving a safe Drone and UAS future.
He said the paper will prepare the industry towards a progressive future for the technology optimisation, adding that, over 18 industry leaders will be speaking at the conference while 250 delegates and 1000 daily visitors were expected at the exhibition.
“DroneTecx 2022 will offer the platform to explore all opportunities within this emerging sector and create a meeting point for operators, dealers, manufacturers and buyers. This year’s edition will feature open speaker’s plenary, End user’s workshop, youth Seminar, paper competition and Drone for humanitarian award, as well as expositions of drone related products and services”.
The organizer also stressed that, the 3-day event under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and endorsed by the NCAA and in collaboration with NUSA, will unveil wide scale civil applications of drones and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle technologies and bring brighter understanding on safe and economic usage and how it applies in all sectors.
“Health, oil and gas, maritime, construction, rescue, videography, surveillance, logistics, mapping, agriculture etc”.
Speakers include; all heads of aviation agencies, security agencies among whom are, IGP, Alkali Baba Yusuf, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, CAS, CG, NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar.
Others are; ED/CEO, NIPC, Ms. Yewade Sadiku, DG, NITDA, Mall am Kashifu Inuwa, Ere, Aerospace Global Air Accedemy, Asseco, UFO, Ariel among others.
DroneTecx which was founded in 2020 is the Nigeria’s foremost Drone Conference and Exhibition aimed at promoting Drone, UAV and autonomous technology development in Africa.
