Jigawa State Governor, Mallam Umar Namadi, has appointed Nasir Chamo as a Special Assistant on Renewable Energy.
Chamo brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as both the Vice President of the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA) for the Northern Zone and the National Secretary of the Association for Hajj and Umrah Operators of Nigeria.
A graduate with a double major in Business Administration from the prestigious Bayero University Kano, Chamo is known for his dedication to grassroots politics and his commitment to Jigawa State’s success.
In his new role, he will play a key part in Governor Namadi’s plan to bring cost-effective energy to the state, particularly for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
Jigawa boasts abundant renewable energy resources, including wind, hydropower, biomass (organic and human waste), and solar power.
Chamo’s expertise in human resources management and his connections within the travel industry, where renewable energy is increasingly used to address infrastructure gaps in power supply, will be invaluable assets in driving this initiative forward.
Chamo himself expressed his commitment to utilizing his knowledge and experience to make a positive impact.
This appointment signals Jigawa State’s strong push towards a more sustainable and self-sufficient energy future.
