The Federal Government of Nigeria has successfully repatriated 190 citizens from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The returnees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Monday at 5:59 AM, greeted by a coordinated team of government officials led by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

Upon arrival, the returnees underwent profiling and documentation by relevant agencies.

They were also briefed on the importance of maintaining decorum and responsibility upon their return to Nigeria.

Bashir Idris Garga, NEMA North Central Director, issued a statement on behalf of the Director General, urging all Nigerians to act as exemplary ambassadors of their country, emphasizing the values of patriotism, rule of law, decency, and integrity.

In related news, the United Arab Emirates has lifted its visa ban on Nigerian passport holders.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Muhammad Idris, announced on Monday that the lifting of the ban resulted from an agreement between the two nations.

Nigerian passport holders can now travel to the UAE without issues.

The visa ban, initially imposed in October 2022, targeted Nigerian and other African passport holders due to a surge in criminal activities.

The specific details of the recent agreement remain undisclosed.
