The Director General, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Capt. Musa Nuhu today received the full report of the 2nd Drone Technology Conference and Expo DRONETECX 2022 in his office in Abuja.
On receiving the report the DG commended the effort of the F.C.I International the organiser of the conference and pledged the commitment of the agency towards bringing out an all inclusive regulation that would not only guide the unmanned aircraft system (UAS) development for safe and secured operations but also provide a level playing field that will enhance its economic prosperity in creating jobs in Nigeria.
He alluded to the vast opportunities and potentials of the emerging sector as highlighted in the papers presented but stressed that all drone operations interest must be brought to NCAA for clearance and regulation.
Commenting on the report, Mr. Fortune Idu who is the convener of the conference used the opportunity to thank all the contributors to the report and promised that the report and the contributors comments will be channelled to the appropriate quarters for policy formulation.
He also emphasised that NCAA should be given the free hand to regulate and monitor the industry to make processing for licences easier and seamless.
