ValueJet, a leading airline, has announced plans to resume direct flights from Lagos to Jos, Plateau State, effective April 2, 2025.

The airline will operate three flights a week, scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with the possibility of expanding to daily operations in the future.

This development comes after the airline had previously launched its inaugural flight to Jos in October 2022 and began services from Abuja in February 2023.

The Plateau State Government had entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ValueJet to ensure the airline sustains its operations on the route and provides a safer alternative to traveling by road.

The signing of the MoU took place at ValueJet’s head office in Lagos, with Omololu Majekodunmi, the airline’s Managing Director, and Jatau Davou Gyang, the Commissioner of Transportation representing Governor Caleb Mutfwang, signing on behalf of the parties involved.

According to Gyang, the initiative is critical to the development of the state and marks a significant milestone in the administration’s efforts to open up the economy.

Majekodunmi emphasized that the air pact aims to guarantee and legally tie in place air transport business between the parties, which is particularly important due to the insecurity on the roads.

The Lagos-Jos direct flights can be booked on www.flyvaluejet.com. This development is expected to provide a convenient and safer travel option for passengers, particularly those traveling from Plateau State to Abuja and beyond.
