A staff of the Nigeria Aviation Handling Company, NAHCOaviance, is lying critically in the Surgical Emergency Department of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) after being stabbed by a cargo agent.
The NAHCO staff whose name is Tersuu Orhemba was on night duty when a cargo agent with Confidence Cargo named Bayo was reported to had stabbed Mr. Orhemba on Wednesday the 3rd of April inside the cargo warehouse of the company.
According to report, the incident was captured on the Closed Circuit Television in the warehouse and was reported to the Airport Police Command to do the needful.
Unfortunately, the police could not do anything as it was alleged that the suspect in question could not be arrested and that the police may have been compromised.
After public outcry on the incident and apprehension among staff and others regarding their safety and the environment, the police responded assuring that efforts were on to apprehended the culprit.
The Airport Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Joseph Alabi said, the Command had launched a manhunt for the arrest of a cargo agent, adding thatbthe police was unable to arrest the main suspect when officers got to the warehouse.
He said the matter was still under investigation and efforts have been intensified to apprehend the suspect who was currently at large.
According to investigation, the victim a staff of the NigerianAviation Handling Company NAHCO, Mr. Tersuu Orhemba was on night duty when he waa reportedly attacked and stabbed by a cargo agent simply identified as ‘Bayo’ of Confidence Cargo.
The incident according to our correspondent was alledgedly captured by Close Circuit Television (CCTV) inside the premises of the NAHCO warehouse.
The victim is said to be in the Surgical Emergency Department of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in a critical condition.
His medical report indicated that he has internal bleeding which has flown into the brain and would required surgery to clear blood stains in the brain.
