Popular Nigerian fast-food chain, Chicken Republic, has expanded its reach by opening a new outlet at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

Strategically located in the arrival hall, the restaurant promises its signature consistency, quality offerings, and excellent service to arriving passengers.

Jide Onalaja, Director of Mirror Foods, a Chicken Republic franchisee, highlights the brand’s established reputation: “Chicken Republic is a leader in the industry, and the biggest food outlet in Nigeria. We’re proud to bring their familiar taste and affordability to the airport.”

This marks the first of many planned airport locations as they have received a concession from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria FAAN for Chicken Republic, with Onalaja also confirming their ambition to open outlets across Nigeria.

“It has about 300 outlets in Nigeria and in Ghana as well. It is the biggest brand that was established in Nigeria and has grown to that extent. They are working on setting up branches in Canada and UK as well. Chicken Republic originated from Lagos. The meals are affordable. We are rolling this out in all airports across Nigeria but we are starting with Lagos.”

He adds, “Whatever you get here is the same in any Chicken Republic. The standards are the same as those of the global standard. Instead of afresh with a new name, we went for a brand that is well known, that is affordable and accepted by the majority.”

The new outlet capitalizes on the arrival concourse, a space designed to cater to passengers reuniting with loved ones.

“The idea is that in a place of receiving passengers, people come and receive people and they want to have a place to eat. It is basically to enhance and contribute to the ambience of this airport and to go with the brand that is well known, well accepted.”
