Minna, Niger State Now Connected to Lagos, Abuja with Overland Airways Flights

Overland Airways, Nigeria’s longest-serving private domestic airline, has announced the commencement of flight services to Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport Minna, the capital city of Niger State, from Lagos and Abuja.

The airline will operate three weekly flights on the Minna-Lagos-Minna route and three weekly flights on the Minna-Abuja-Minna route, using its brand-new Embraer 175 aircraft. 

The flights will depart Lagos to Minna at 8am and Minna to Lagos at 3pm, while flights from Minna to Abuja will depart at 9:30am and Abuja to Minna will depart at 2pm.

The new flight services are expected to boost economic activities in Niger State and its environs, and Overland Airways is committed to providing safe, reliable, and efficient air travel services to its customers.

According to Capt. Edward Boyo, Chief Executive Officer and Accountable Executive of Overland Airways, the new flight services will facilitate trade, tourism, and economic activities in Niger State and its environs, supporting the state government’s efforts to attract more direct investments and improve the livelihood of its citizens.

The Niger State Ministry of Transport and the New Niger Development Project (NNDP) jointly praised the partnership with Overland Airways, saying it marks a significant milestone in the state’s quest for modern infrastructure and economic development.

Alhaji Liman Katamba Kutigi, Chief Operating Officer of the New Niger Aviation said, “We are thrilled to have Overland Airways as the pioneer airline for this project, setting the foundation for expanded air travel connectivity in Niger State”.

Overland Airways has a reputation for excellent customer service and reliability, and its introduction of brand-new Embraer E175 jets has further enhanced its service offering. 

The airline has also renewed its IOSA safety certification for the 5th consecutive time, reaffirming its position as a safe and leading African carrier.

Niger State, known as the Power State, is the largest state in Nigeria by landmass and host of major hydroelectric power dams and other businesses. The state requires reliable air services to drive its economic development, and Overland Airways is uniquely positioned to meet this need.
