NCAA Commits to Protecting Passengers’ Rights Amid Arik Air Disruptions

In a bid to mitigate the impact of the recent grounding of Arik Air aircraft due to legal issues, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) is closely monitoring the situation and engaging with Arik Air to determine the plans for affected passengers. 

The situation on Tuesday led to the disruptions of flights and inconvenience to intending passengers.

To ensure that passengers receive the necessary support, the Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mr. Michael Achimugu says, CP Officers are stationed at terminals to monitor passenger handling and provide information.

According to him, passengers who have been affected by the grounding of Arik Air aircraft can seek assistance by visiting the NCAA Consumer Protection offices, where they can identify and speak with our officers. 

Alternatively, they can send an email to cpd@ncaa.gov.ng.

The NCAA assured all affected passengers that their rights as critical stakeholders will be protected. 

The regulatory authority noted that, it understands the inconvenience and distress caused by this situation and are committed to ensuring that passengers receive the necessary support and assistance.

It reiterated that passengers should stay informed and seek guidance from the NCAA Consumer Protection Officers or the airline for any updates on their flights and travel plans.
