He said the recent accident at the Otedola bridge where many were burnt alive was a sad one, adding that on a daily basis the FRSC patrol vehicles ply that route and that he was relieved none of his men were caught in that traffic.

” that is also a route where we patrol on a daily basis, how about if a patrol team was also trapped in that traffic, we would have been singing a different song now. Our men use to stay on that otedola every now and then, only God knows what would have happened, so we thank God for seeing us through this 2nd quater”.

” our job is very risky and very challenging that on a daily basis, we must learn how to say Thank You to God”.

Omeje emphasized that every quater, the FRSC team in Lagos gather together to appraise their operations and setting targets to keep everyone on their toes.

” What this meeting is all about is to see how we have pursued vigorously our strategic goals in the day-to-day activities in the command in the 2nd quarter and look at the 3rd quarter, what are we going to do, what is our action plan for this 3rd quarter”.

” Our command still stands as the number one command among all the commands in the Federation so, I think if you ask me, we are on course, there is still much, much work to be done, we are not resting on our oars, that’s why you see us organizing this retreat”.

He said they were determined to improve on their operations, adding that their strategic goals for this year was enhancing professionalism among the operatives.
“It is at fora like this that that you see us some of those critics that we get from the outside, we synthesize it, we analyze it, we discuss it and now know how better, how best to do some things”.

Representatives of different commands of the FRSC across the state made presentations of what they had done for the 2nd quarter and their projections for the 3rd quarter.
