The domestic wing of the Lagos airport popularly called the General Aviation Terminal One, GAT, has increased its covid-19 facilities at different points in the terminal.

This is coming on the heels of the second wave of the pandemic in the country.
The terminal at resumption of flights in July to December 2020 recorded a total of 551,380 passengers movements.

More hand sanitizers points have been introduced, hand washing facilities and temperature test kits

The terminal according to the Manager, Mr. Adekunle Aderibigbe in an interview with journalists also recorded 6,261 aircraft movements within the period.

He stated that passenger traffic was low during the period but picked up during the yuletide celebrations despite the effects of the pandemic, adding that the airlines were up to their game in deploying more aircraft to handle the passenger turn-out.

Aderibigbe explained that safety, security and comfort of passengers remained their priority especially compliance to the covid-19 protocols.

He however noted that their greatest headache was the refusal of some passengers to comply with the protocols, adding that a team had been constituted to enforce compliance.

Aderibigbe said the airport had been cleared of unwanted visitors especially to avoid bottlenecks on the access roads stressing that arriving passengers board their vehicles at the terminal carpark.

He applauded airlines for their insistence on passengers buying their tickets online, adding that this had led to a reduction in touting in the terminal, a development he said was welcomed.
