A renowned aviation expert and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), comrade Isaac Balami has written a heartfelt letter to Nigerian youths, asking them to cancel plans for a grand birthday celebration in his honor.
Balami, a former President of the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers, made the request in a bid to redirect attention to the pressing needs of the country’s youth.
With widespread hunger and suffering plaguing Nigeria, Balami believes it is more important to focus on empowering the next generation rather than celebrating his own birthday.
However, Balami has not abandoned his birthday plans entirely. Instead, he has decided to team up with his friends and allies who were planning to throw him a party to make it a momentous occasion.
Through the Isaac Balami Foundation (IBF), he plans to empower 160 qualified Nigerians in different aviation fields, including training programs.
“We will use this opportunity to advance the lives of 40 individuals in 4 different aviation fields, making a total of 160 beneficiaries,” Balami said in his letter.
The aviation expert’s decision to redirect his birthday celebration towards a more meaningful cause has been hailed by many as a selfless act.
