FRSC promotes 25 officers, recorded 9 road crashes during…….

……..records 2 deaths, urges officers to redouble effort

The Federal Road Safety Commission in Lagos has promoted 25 of its officers, 11 officers and 14 marshals.

The promoted officers were drawn from Lagos and Ogun state.

During the decoration of the newly promoted officers who had gone through rigorous exercise and examinations to merit the promotion, the zonal commander and Assistant Corps Marshal, Shehu Zaki told the newly promoted officers to be dedicated and diligent in their duties and to see their promotion as more hard-work and added responsibilities.
” your promotion is an acknowledgement of hard-work and performance, it motivates an individual to do more, the Corps has acknowledged these and has catapulted you to a greater responsibility”.

Zaki emphasized that the Corps was committed to recognizing hard-work, adding that the Corps would not loss sight of those who had failed to meet the requirements for promotion.
He urged them,” do not be deterred from doing your best, it will be a great disservice if you fail to give the Corps what will propel it forward”.
” this is the time to brace up and do more for the system, be more committed and passionate with your job”, he added.
Lagos state Sector Commander, Mr. Hyginus Omeje while congratulating the newly promoted officers and marshals urged them to discharge their duties without fear, adding that officers and men of the Corps must redouble their efforts in ensuring safety on the roads.
In an interview with reporters, Mr. Omeje disclosed that during the Yuletide period, the Commission impounded many vehicles for overloading and over speeding.
He said some of the vehicles whose drivers tested positive to alcohol intake using the breathalyzer also had their vehicles impounded.
He said 9 road crashes and 2 deaths where recorded while many others sustained injuries.
Some of the newly promoted officers, Mrs. Olubunmi Shoneye and Mr. Mohammed Yenusa pledged to justify the confidence reposed in them and carry out their duties diligently.
