The Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Economy (FMACTCE) has launched the D30 Data Platform, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at revolutionizing Nigeria’s cultural, creative, and tourism sectors.
The open-source data repository is set to become the most comprehensive in Africa, providing unparalleled transparency and economic stimulation.
The platform is designed to support the Nigeria Destination 2030 goal of generating over 2 million jobs in these sectors, as outlined by the Minister, Hannatu Musawa.
The D30 Platform mirrors successful data-driven models like Nigeria’s EFInA and South Africa’s REIPPPP, which have driven market transformation and growth in their respective countries.
The Minister emphasized the significance of the platform, stating, “The launch of the D30 Platform is crucial in unlocking the vast potential of our creative and tourism sectors. With funding secured for phase 1, we are building a transparent, dynamic data ecosystem to spark innovation, attract investment, and shape policies that bolster Nigeria’s presence in the global creative economy.”
The platform will benefit entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers by providing real-time data to uncover lucrative opportunities, enhance infrastructure, and foster strategic collaborations essential for job creation and economic growth.
The development of the platform will involve collaborative efforts with the National Bureau of Statistics and key CCI and tourism sector players.
FMACTCE invites stakeholders to contribute their insights to ensure the platform’s data integrity and relevance in revolutionizing Nigeria’s creative landscape. The platform is set to launch in late 2025, with data collection already underway.
