The Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Mr. Kabir Mohammed, is determined to curb passenger extortion at airports.
To this end, he said “Mystery staff” have been stationed to monitor irregularities at the four international airports, with a focus on Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
Speaking at a one day Airport Council International, Service Quality event in Lagos, he stressed that, those caught extorting during the Yuletide season face disciplinary consequences.
Kabir reminded government agencies of surveillance cameras and urged collaboration to enhance the airport’s reputation.
The ACI ASQ sensitization event, led by the Directorate of Airport Operations, discussed concerns and suggestions to improve the airport’s image, attended by top management, government agencies, and concessionaires.
