Engineer Adeyileka New Rector Illorin International Aviation College, Stakeholders applaud appointment

Engineer Benedict Adeyileka, former Acting Director General and Director of Air worthiness Standard ( DAWS), Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority,NCAA has been appointed the Rector, Illorin International Aviation College, Illorin, Kwara state.
Before his appointment, Engineer Adeyileka was the Technical Director Engineering AirPeace Airline.

The Kwara State government Commissioner for Works and Transport, Alhaji Aro Yahaya in a statement announced that the appointment is coming on the expiration of contract of Captain Nurudeen Abdulkareem , the outgone Rector of the College.

He explained that New Rector is expected to position the college for better performance, resourceful training and career growth and encouraged the appointee to be steadfast and committed to his new assignment and come up with initiatives that would further strengthen the existing standards of the college.

Alhaji Aro appealed to the management and staff of the college to support and cooperate with the new Rector in order to achieve the purpose for which the college was established.

Stakeholders in the industry have applauded the appointment of Engineer Benedict Adeyileka, Managing Director, Aero contractor, Captain Ado Sanusi while congratulating Engr Adeyileka wished him success in the new job.
Head Corporate Communications, AirPeace, Chris Iwarah described the appointment as a good one, “our hearty congratulations to the aviation administrator par excellence”.
Director Consumer Protection, NCAA Mallam Adamu Abdullahi also congratulated engineer Adeyileka on his appointment.

PROFILE OF ENGR. BENEDICT OLUWOLE ADEYILEKA
Engineer Benedict Oluwole Adeyileka was born on the 21st of June, 1959 in Lagos, Nigeria.
He is a graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University, England formally known as Kingston College of Technology  and currently holds a European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Licence & Nigerian Civil Aviation Agency Licence (NCAA) with various aircraft types.
Engineer Benedict Oluwole Adeyileka is an enthusiastic and dedicated professional with over 37 years of experience at senior level in the Aviation Industry mostly in the United Kingdom, with spells in Asia, Africa and Europe.
His wealth of experience straddles across the industry in variety of roles like Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, Design and Manufacturing, Avionics, Quality Systems, Technical Services and as a Regulator in the Civil Aviation Authority, he has worked both with Aircraft manufacturers, Airlines and Maintenance Repair Organisations [MROs] in such prestigious companies such as BAE Systems Woodford UK, Scottish Highland Airways Inverness UK, Gill Airways UK and at Gatari Air in Indonesia. As a seasoned Engineer, he has successfully been involved with Airline start-up both in the UK and Asia.
 His aircraft maintenance experience ranges from Piston Engines Aeroplanes, Turboprop Fixed and Rotary wings Aeroplanes and Jet Engines Aeroplanes.
His Project experience includes complete aircraft refurbishments from out of storage to final upgrade intended for resale, these include complex mechanical and avionics modifications, such as EGPWS [TAWS] and TCAS installations, complex reconnaissance installation and modifications for UK Fisheries Protection and Oil spillage reconnaissance and dispersant for the oil and Gas industries.
He also has experience in Air Accident Investigation His relevant commercial, financial, personnel and management experience is also impeccable.
Engr. Benedict Adeyileka worked as Project Manager in AIR [Aerospatiale Industries now EADS [European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company EADS N.V. (EADS)in Singapore and Indonesia, BAE Systems Woodford, Manchester UK, Technical Director/Accountable Manager with Highland Airways, Inverness Airport, Scotland; Director / Chief Maintenance Officer / Accountable Manager of Topbrass Aviation Ltd in Lagos, Nigeria; VP Technical / Engineering Director of Arik Airlines, Lagos Nigeria, and Technical Director of Aero Contractors of Nigeria Ltd before he was appointed as the Director of Airworthiness Standards at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority where he appointed as the Acting Director General of Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority from March 2014 to October 2014.
He continued as the Director, Airworthiness Standards until March 2017.
He currently work as an Aviation Consultant, consulted for various  Aviation Outlets including  Air Peace Engineering, Phased in their 2 x B777-200/300ER, IFE set up, also introduced 6 x Embraer ERJ 145 and doubled their B737 Fleet From 7 to 14 Airplanes. The total fleet was increased from 8 to 23 with 6 months.
Engr. Benedict Adeyileka is a member of professional bodies like Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Membership No. 32532 and National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE). He is a Registered Engineer with Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) with registration no. R52385.
