As the Eid-el-Fitri Sallah celebration approaches, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has cautioned passengers against destroying airport terminals and airline properties due to flight delays, rescheduling, and cancellations.
The authority’s Managing Director, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, made the plea during an Iftar dinner with Lagos airport Muslim communities, urging passengers to be guided by the law and show understanding in the face of challenges.
Kuku represented by the Director, Operations, FAAN, Capt. Abdullahi Mahmood emphasized that airlines will not deliberately delay or cancel flights without a valid reason, and that passengers should respect the rights of both airlines and themselves.
She urged passengers to arrive at airports on time and to understand that everyone has their rights, including airlines.
The FAAN MD, reiterated the importance of understanding and respecting the rights of all parties involved.
She disclosed that the authority is working to ensure that all airports in the country are up to standard, and that efforts are being made to eradicate touting at the nation’s airports.
Kuku acknowledged that tackling touting is a challenging task, but assured that FAAN is committed to eradicating the practice.
According to her, the authority is taking the issue seriously and is working to sensitize passengers about the wrongfulness of touting.
