Medview Airlines has concluded plans to airlift stranded passengers from Lagos and London today.
The passengers have been in Lagos since Sunday when the airline experienced some hitches in its operations.
Media consultant to the airline, Mr. Obuke Oyibotha who disclosed this an interview said the passengers would be leaving at 1 pm today with other passengers stranded in London Gatwick coming in.
” the aircraft will come today to airlift the passengers and another one will be coming tomorrow to take the backlog, there is nothing to worry about”.
Mr. Oyibotha Obuke however regretted the inconveniences suffered by the affected passengers and everything possible within Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) in aviation was being done to airlift them.
Speaking on the situation, Director, Consumer Protection, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA Alhaji Adamu Abdullahi said the airline had issues with the NCAA regarding its airworthiness that it needed to sort out before embarking on flight operations.
” the issues is not wether the aircraft is not safe for flight, i think the issues has to do with documentation with the NCAA ,immediately this is done, all the passengers will be taken out”
Alhaji Adamu commended the medview for living up to expectation in taking care of the passengers, putting them in an hotel, refunding their monies to them and ensuring that they were not unruly.
However, most of the stranded passengers have expressed sadness at the development but understood with the airline that the issue had to be sorted out before resumption of flights.
It would be recalled that at least 120 London bound passengers of the Nigerian carrier have been stranded in Lagos since Sunday while the London passengers have also been abandoned in London since last Wednesday.
