Bus operators at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, this morning shut down operations over the alleged illegal arrest of their Chairman, Mr. Tijani Jelili and Public Relations Officer, Lukmon  Abdullahi.

The duo were said to have been arrested by men of the Lagos State Task Force and impounded vehicles.
Both officials of the Association of Limousine Bus Operators ( ALBO) were whisked away by men of the Lagos State Task Force as early as 6:15am.

Many air travellers and Airport users are currently stranded at various bud stops within the airport environment. Some have resorted to  walking long distances, while others are making use of motorcyclists popularly called okada riders to get in and out of the airport.

Secretary of ALBO, Augustus Amonimo who spoke to our reporter claimed that Lagos State Task Force were harrassing us for no reason. He explained that, they do not want to see their blue buses registered under the airport authority Nationwide and not the state government.

Already, the bus operators are mobilizing to embark on a protest against this perceived injustice and have started calling out their members far and wide demanding the release of their two executives.
Buses were seen parked in their scores at the Local Junction Busstop with a crowd of angry drivers chanting demanding the release of their officials.
