Ag.DGCA, Commends Retiring Aviation Veteran, Adurogboye, for Exemplary Service and Lasting Legacy in Public Affairs

The Acting Director-General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo has commended Mr. Sam Adurogboye, the Former General Manager, Public Affairs of the Authority for his significant role in securing positive media coverage since joining in 2000. 

Capt. Njomo who gave the commendation at Adurogboye’s retirement celebration organized by the PR Department in Lagos said, he has left an enduring mark on the organization and urged the agency staff, particularly those in Public Relations, to follow his example.

Represented by Engr. Samuel Ngene, the Lagos Regional Manager, NCAA, Capt. Najomo expressed delight at Adurogboye’s career pinnacle, highlighting the rarity of reaching the General Manager position. 

Colleagues and industry friends praised Adurogboye’s unique practice of returning unspent budgets, uncommon in civil service. 

Mrs. Carol Adekotujo, the Assistant General Manager, Public Affairs, described Adurogboye as a mentor and peacemaker, emphasizing his equal treatment of staff.

In response, Mr. Sam Adurogboye thanked those who contributed to his successful tenure, encouraging them to add value to the system and positively impact others. 

Reflecting on his clean record and the rejection of his retirement letter by Capt. Musa Nuhu, the former Director-General of Civil Aviation, Adurogboye emphasized the importance of leaving a legacy through touching lives and adding value to people.

The celebration featured the reading of Adurogboye’s citation, the cutting of the cake, and a toast to the celebrant for his selfless service to the nation in the Aviation Industry.
