Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) system.
According to a statement by the Head, Corporate Communication, Mrs. Adetola Uansohia, this strategic acquisition represents a significant leap forward in SAHCO’s cargo screening capabilities, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance for both import and export operations, particularly those destined for the United States and other Western nations.
She said, the Itemiser 5X, recognized and recommended by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA), is a testament to SAHCO’s unwavering commitment to security.
Featuring an optimized detection library capable of identifying a broad spectrum of explosives and narcotics, coupled with an advanced software algorithm for enhanced accuracy, the system significantly bolsters SAHCO’s security infrastructure.
To maximize coverage, Uansohia explained that, SAHCO has strategically deployed three units across its major operational hubs, reinforcing adherence to global security standards.
Giving further features of the ETD system, the SAHCO spokesperson said, it is designed for superior performance and operational efficiency, the Itemiser 5X incorporates a fast clear-down mechanism to eliminate residual explosive traces, ensuring seamless workflow.
Its innovative desorber design and sample wand improve sample collection accuracy, while remote monitoring capabilities allow for real-time system oversight.
The machine’s user-friendly design, including lightweight portability and a built-in handle, facilitates convenient transport.
Advanced features such as stable humidity control, a high-capacity hard drive, and an automated internal calibration system enhance detection accuracy and reduce consumable usage.
