Oluwasola O. Awe Joins Global Airport Board, Boosts African Presence in Management

Mrs. Oluwasola O. Awe, a native of Nigeria, has secured a position on the Governing Board of the International Airport Professional (IAP) Community of Practice (CoP).

Currently serving as the Acting General Manager of administration at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), she will represent the African region on the Board, which encompasses members from Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America-Caribbean, and North America.

The IAP CoP serves as an interactive platform for AMPAP graduates and various stakeholders in the airport industry to connect, collaborate, and exchange experiences, best practices, and insights among global experts.

This fosters the generation of new knowledge and best practices, contributing to the advancement of Airport Management worldwide.

With representation from 122 countries, Mrs. Oluwasola O. Awe brings her expertise to the Board.

She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Lagos, and a Masters in Sustainable Air Transport Management from ITAérea Aeronautical Business School in Spain.

Additionally, she possesses a Diploma in Airport Executive Leadership from ACI/JMSB Concordia University and has participated in various local and ICAO/ACI training programs.

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSAN), Mrs. Awe is also recognized as an International Airport Professional (IAP).

Notably, she follows in the footsteps of Mr. Kabir Y. Mohammed (IAP), the former Managing Director/CEO of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), to become the second Nigerian elected to the IAP CoP Board for the upcoming two-year term (2024-2025).
