IAC Celebrates Milestone Graduation of Military, Civilian Pilots

The International Aviation College (IAC) in Ilorin marked a significant achievement on Friday, March 28, 2025, with the graduation of 19 pilots.

Comprising 10 officers from the Nigerian Army Aviation and 9 civilians, all of whom successfully completed their Private Pilot License (PPL) training. 

The ceremony, a testament to the college’s commitment to aviation excellence, was attended by key figures from the state government and the Nigerian military.

Representing the State Governor, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibo Kawu, extended heartfelt congratulations to the graduating pilots. 

She emphasized the importance of upholding the highest standards of professionalism within the aviation industry and commended the IAC’s management and staff for their collaborative efforts in ensuring the success of the training program. 

Hajia Kawu also reiterated the state government’s unwavering support for the college, pledging continued assistance to maintain its momentum.

Captain Yakubu O. Okatai, the Rector of IAC, expressed his joy at the graduation ceremony, describing it as another significant milestone for the institution. 

He conveyed his deep gratitude to the Governor of Kwara State for fostering a conducive training environment. 

The Rector congratulated the graduates and urged them to demonstrate unwavering professionalism in their future endeavors.

Brigadier General E. Bakins, representing the Chief of Army Staff, praised the Nigerian Army Aviation officers for their dedication and perseverance throughout their training. 

He challenged the graduates to be prepared for the challenges that lie ahead in their service to the nation and the Army Chief extended his best wishes to the graduates as they embark on their military careers.

Speaking on behalf of the graduating class, Col. Musa expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Army for the opportunity to undergo the training. 

He commended the IAC management for providing a supportive training environment and extended appreciation to the college staff, particularly the flight instructors, engineers, and flight operations officers, for their invaluable knowledge and support. 

Col. Musa pledged that the graduates would uphold the trust placed in them by the Chief of Army Staff and the college management.
