CDS Commends NCAC DG for Promoting Nigeria’s Cultural Heritage, Advocates Collaboration

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has praised Otunba Segun Runsewe, Director General, National Council for Arts and Culture, for consistently raising awareness about preserving Nigeria’s cultural heritage.

General Musa commended Runsewe’s significant contributions to the nation’s socio-political and economic development during a courtesy visit from a delegation that included the executive members of the Nigeria Golf Federation and top management of the NCAC.

He expressed delight in the visit, emphasizing the potential for collaboration between the military and NCAC to strengthen civil-military relations through arts and culture.

The CDS highlighted the role of culture as a crucial tool for the Armed Forces in fulfilling their mandate of protecting the nation’s territorial integrity.

In response, Otunba Runsewe lauded the Armed Forces’ gallantry in combating insurgency, banditry, and other crimes.

He emphasized the connection between culture, peace, and national unity, underscoring the NCAC’s efforts to complement the military’s peace-restoration initiatives through cultural.
