Barr. Oluwabukola Aduragbemi Teriba, the Regional Manager of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) in Lagos, has been honoured as the Regional Manager of the Year for 2024. 

The prestigious award, presented by Air Transport Quarterly (ATQ) at an event in Lagos, recognized her outstanding contributions to the aviation industry.

Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Adeola Fadairo, praised Teriba’s leadership, expertise, and collaborative approach, emphasizing her profound impact on Nigeria’s aviation sector. 

He described her as a distinguished professional whose efforts have significantly advanced the industry’s development.

The 4th in the series award organizer, Mr. Supo Atobatele, commended Barrister Teriba’s unwavering dedication to promoting safety, security, and sustainability in aviation. 

According to him, her commitment to these principles has earned her widespread respect among industry peers.

As the NCAA’s Regional Manager for the South West Region, Barr. Teriba oversees the regulation and supervision of aviation activities, ensuring strict compliance with national and international standards. 

Her role has been pivotal in maintaining operational efficiency and safeguarding air travel within the region.

Expressing her gratitude, Barr. Teriba dedicated the award to God, NCAA’s Director General, Captain Chris Ona Najomo, and the agency’s management team and regional staff.

“I feel really humbled by this award,” she said. “I want to dedicate it to God, the DGCA Captain Chris Najomo — fondly called ‘Jolly Papa’ — for his remarkable leadership, and to my incredible team at the regional office for their dedication and support.”

The ceremony witnessed NCAA staff proudly chanting their slogan, “Lagos is working, Lagos in action!” — a testament to the vibrant spirit of the Lagos regional office under her leadership.

Barr. Teriba’s achievements include implementing effective regulatory measures to enhance air transport safety and security, facilitating training programs to build capacity among aviation personnel, and fostering collaboration between airlines, airports, and stakeholders. 

Her contributions have played a crucial role in advancing aviation infrastructure and services in the region, supporting economic growth and development.
