ASRTI BBM to Explore Cape Town Convention’s Implications for Nigerian Airlines

The Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative (ASRTI) is set to host its Quarter 3 Business Breakfast Meeting (BBM) on November 28, 2024, focusing on the critical topic: “The Implications of the Cape Town Practice Direction on the Fortunes of Nigerian Airlines and the Economy.”

In a statement, Mr. Albinus Chiedu, Publicity Secretary, ASRTI, says, the event, scheduled to take place at Golfview Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, will feature a keynote address by the Minister of Aviation & Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN). 

Industry stakeholders, including legal experts and aviation professionals, will gather to delve into the potential consequences of the Cape Town Convention Practice Direction on Nigeria’s aviation sector.

Distinguished speakers at the BBM include Mr. L. Fubara Anga (SAN), Legal Partner at Alex Partners; Mr. Pekun Sowole Esq, Principal Partner at Pekun Soiwole & Co; and Mr. Roland Iyayi, CEO of TopBrass Aviation.

According to the President of ASRTI, Commodore Ademola Onitiju (Rtd), “ASRTI remains committed to promoting safety and security in Nigeria’s aviation industry”.

“This BBM provides a platform to examine the impact of the Cape Town Convention Practice Direction on our airlines and the broader economy, fostering informed discussions and potential solutions.”
