Veteran Aviation Journalist, Shola Adekola, to be Buried March 19th

The family of late Shola Adekola, a renowned aviation journalist, has announced a 2-day burial rites arrangement in a statement released on Monday.

According to the statement signed by her son, Mr. Tosin Adekola, the funeral arrangements will commence with a Wake-keep/Service of Songs on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025 at No. 9 Ikire Street, Bammeke, Shasha, Alimosho, Lagos at 4pm.

The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025 at Halleluyah Mega Parish, 16 St. Peter Church Street, Bammeke, Shasha at 10am, followed by a burial at Redemption City, Memorial Garden, RCCG, KM 46, Lagos Ibadan Expressway.

The family expressed their deepest gratitude to all those who have shown warmth and compassion to them following the untimely passing of the 61-year-old journalist.

Late Mrs. Shola Oluremi Adekola passed away on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025 at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Lagos after a brief illness.

As the Deputy Business Editor/Aviation Editor at the Nigerian Tribune, Adekola was a respected figure in the journalism industry, known for her popular column “CRUCIAL MOMENT” published every Thursday.

The family invites friends, colleagues, and well-wishers to join them in celebrating the life and legacy of the late journalist.
