The Chinese Citizen earlier reported to be currently under observation for any symptoms of the dreaded Coronavirus COVID 19 has been confirmed clean from the virus.
The Chinese was reported coughing on board Ethiopian Airline flight enroute Addis Ababa-Lagos yesterday evening and at the arrival hall of the Murtala Mohammed international airport, Lagos, he was also observed to have coughed twice on arrival.
According to reports, he was immediately separated from other passengers and after check by Port health officials, he was scheduled to undergo other test.
He was immediately attended to by Port health staff and separated from other passengers.
The Lagos state Center for Disease Control was immediately notified to carryout further test on the Chinese citizen.
The MMIA Manager, Mrs. Victoria Shinaba says who earlier confirmed they were expecting the results from the Lagos State CDC, said the result of the test was negative.
At a news briefing in Lagos, Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi appealed to frequent travellers to always give accurate information about their personal details and travel history.
The made the appeal against the backdrop of government’s inability to trace some of the travellers who flew into Lagos with the Coronavirus index patient who is currently in medical isolation at the Infectious Disease Hospital, IDH, Yaba.
Prof. Abayomi pointed out that the fact that 35 persons out of those who flew in with the infected Italian could not be traced indicates that they gave false information about themselves, an act which he described as irresponsible.
