Our demands, Expanded Organogram, Staff Friendly CoS, Renegotiated Staff health Insurance policy enough is enough, our mumu don do, among others were some of the inscriptions carried and pasted by members of Aviation unions as they barricaded the headquarters of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority NCAA in Lagos.
The Unions yesterday directed all staff of the NCAA to embark on an indefinite strike Nationwide until their demands were met.
The demands include immediate implementation of the new organogram for NCAA as agreed with the Ministry of Transportation, Aviation, the Management of the NCAA and the unions.
Others are the implementation of the reviewed conditions of service as negotiated and the inauguration of the Governing Board of the NCAA.
In a related development, the Minister of State (Aviation) Senator Hadi Sirika has invited the Aviation Unions to a meeting today to address all issues raised by the workers.
Aviation Unions are presently on strike thereby disrupting services at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority’s offices.
The Unions are demanding a review of the organisation’s Organogram , approval of the new Condition of Service (COS) and inauguration of Boards for the Authority
In astatement, spokesman for the NCAA, Sam Adurogboye says, “these issues are however not within the jurisdiction of NCAA management”
“Therefore , the Regulatory Authority will work with the supervising ministry to ensure that all issues are properly addressed to the satisfaction of all parties”.
He added, ” the Authority has absolute confidence that the meeting between the Honourable Minister and the Unions will provide amicable resolution”.
The Aviation appealed to all aviation stakeholders who are not able to access services their offices today to remain calm as normalcy will soon be restored.
