23 Nigerians have been deported back to the countryfrom the United kingdom for immigration related offences.
The deportees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMlA) Lagos on a chartered plane at about 6am this morning.
Spokesman for the airport police command, Mr. Joseph Alabi, who confirmed the development said the deportees all males, were brought back for entering the U.K illegally, having expired visas among others.
The deportees were received by officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) , the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), the Police and officials the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
The deportees were profiled by officials of the Nigerian immigration service before they were allowed to leave for their respective destinations.
