SAHCO CEO, Basil Agboarumi, Receives ‘Best Practice Award’ from NIPR for Exceptional Leadership and Professionalism

The Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) PLC, Mr. Basil Agboarumi, was honored with the ‘Best Practice Award’ by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) at the Ibom Icon Resort in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom state. 

The accolade, presented during the NIPR Director’s Conference and Retreat 8.0, acknowledged Basil’s exceptional professionalism in public service.

At the conference, chaired by Mrs. Thelma Okoh, the event aimed to foster collaborative learning among Public Relations Directors. 

Mr. Basil Agboarumi, addressing a diverse audience of PR Directors from both public and private sectors, shared insights in his presentation titled: “INSIGHTS FROM BEST PRACTICES MODEL.”

Basil urged PR Directors to grasp a thorough understanding of their operating environments, emphasizing the importance of integrity, loyalty, and continuous personal development for success in the industry. 

He highlighted his journey from the PR landscape to leading the boardroom, attributing it to God’s grace and competence demonstrated during an opportunity to act as his predecessor.

During the award ceremony, NIPR President Mr. Ike Neliaku commended Basil’s contributions, stating that PR practitioners, like Basil, can provide leadership for institutions beyond the boardroom. 

Basil, humbled by the recognition, expressed gratitude and stressed the importance of being dependable and truthful in communication to the public and stakeholders.

He concluded by noting that the award would inspire others to understand that good deeds are rewarded and encouraged PR practitioners to contribute positively to the country’s development.
