Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc, a leading ground handling company in West and Central Africa, has achieved a new industry benchmark by successfully turning around a Boeing 777 cargo aircraft in a record 37 minutes at Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos.
This remarkable feat surpasses the industry standard of 90 minutes for such operations.
The turnaround included offloading 37 pallets, loading new cargo, and completing all necessary ground handling tasks.
SAHCO attributed this achievement to recent investments in state-of-the-art equipment, including Ground Power Units (GPUs), belt loaders, pushback tractors, and other specialized machinery.
According to SAHCO source who does not want his name mentioned said, “This 37-minute turnaround for Ethiopian Airlines’ B777 was achieved safely, speedily, and efficiently. Our staff are highly trained and certified to perform these critical operations.”
This record-breaking turnaround follows SAHCO’s recent recognition with the prestigious British Airways’ Safety and Punctuality Award for three consecutive quarters.
