Safety: GAT One Airport Manager appeals to air passengers to follow Covid-19 protocols

Passengers and airport users of the domestic wing of the Lagos airport have been advised to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols in the interest of safety and security.

The Terminal Manager, General Aviation Terminal One, GAT One, Mr. Adekunle Aderibigbe who gave the advice in a chat with newsmen said, with the upsurge in traffic, passengers for seamless facilitation do the right thing to avoid being denied entry into the terminal building.

The GAT Manager stressed that, the upsurge in passenger traffic was not a challenge to them as airlines operating at the terminal have brought in new aircraft to meet passengers demands during this Yuletide season and beyond.

He stated that, air travel still remained the safest and secured mode of transportation in the country and attributed the upsurge of passenger traffic to the insecurity on the roads.

To ensure quick facilitation of both baggage and travelers, Mr. Aderibigbe said, the Management of FAAN acquired and installed two screening machines at the terminal.

According to him Safety, security and comfort remained paramount as the terminal was operating at the highest standards to nip any security breach in the bud.

Aderibigbe advised airlines to ensure that scheduled flights were adhered to and inform passengers when there were cancellations in order to avoid crisis.

As regards vehicular movement, the terminal Manager noted that, the personnel in charge of traffic have been briefed on what to do, adding that, men of  the Civil defence Corps and private security were on ground to control traffic within and around the terminals.
