Good news for air travelers! Bi-Courtney Aviation Services, the operators of Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), expect regional operations to take off in the near future.

This exciting development will not only benefit passengers and airlines, but also boost Nigeria’s economy by attracting foreign investments.

To ensure smooth operations and maximum efficiency, MMA2 is implementing a slot system for airlines.

This means airlines will have designated timeframes for takeoffs and landings, minimizing delays and cancellations and improving on-time performance. This system will be a boon for both airlines and passengers.

But that’s not all. MMA2 is also working on improving interline operations between airlines, reducing the inconvenience caused by incompatible schedules and connections.

This, combined with the slot system, promises a vastly enhanced passenger experience.

Mrs. Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, Head of Corporate Communications at MMA2, emphasized the benefits of regional flights: “It will attract foreign direct investments, FDI… It will speak volumes to the world.”

Remi Jibodu, Head of Aeronautical Services, echoed this sentiment, stating that MMA2 can serve as a “flag carrier” for Nigeria, showcasing the country’s commitment to business and efficiency.

Both Ajoke and Jibodu assured that MMA2 has the necessary facilities and manpower to handle regional flights seamlessly.

According to them, discussions with airlines are ongoing, and everyone involved is eager to see regional operations commence and the slot allocation system works.

Overall, the future looks bright for MMA2 and Nigerian aviation.

With regional flights and innovative initiatives like the slot system and improved interline operations, passengers can expect a more efficient, reliable, and enjoyable travel experience.

This, in turn, will boost Nigeria’s image as a business-friendly nation and attract much-needed foreign investments.
